Strategy Proposes Daily Dividends for STRC
The world's largest BTC holding company, Strategy, is pushing for a plan to calculate dividends for its variable-rate perpetual preferred stock STRC daily and pay them on the next business day. CEO Phong Le stated on the 26th via X, "If approved, STRC will start paying daily dividends a week later." STRC claims it will be the first global security to have daily dividends on the calendar, paving the way for the digital transformation of capital markets. Strategy plans to vote on changing the dividend cycle for four types of U.S.-listed preferred stocks, including STRC, at a special shareholders' meeting on October 28. If approved, the first daily dividend record date for STRC will be November 1, with the first payment on November 2. The record date for daily dividends will include weekends and holidays, but the dividends will be paid on the next business day. Currently, STRC pays dividends twice a month, and the company explained that this change will not alter the annual dividend rate. The dividend rate for STRC may be adjusted in the future using a variable-rate method. Strategy expects that increasing the frequency of dividend payments will reduce reinvestment time and help enhance the liquidity and price stability of the preferred stock.
