Bubble boi: High Bandwidth Flash Customers Challenge Chinese Clients Struggling to Obtain HBM
In episode 166 of the BidClub podcast, Bubble boi stated that high bandwidth flash technology is attractive, but there is a lack of clear data center application cases. He mentioned that the main customers are Chinese clients who find it difficult to obtain or produce high-end HBM. Bubble boi pointed out that the latency of HBF and high-end AI flash is about 5 microseconds, with bandwidth lower than HBM, a lower cost per bit, but potentially comparable total costs. He believes the most clear customers are those unable to obtain HBM, which aligns with the demand he has learned from various sources in China, as they cannot fully manufacture accelerators or are willing to accept products that do not meet leading specifications.
