The crypto market loses altitude, patience becomes a habit – Steady Lads
In his analysis from October 26, Cara, a professional trader at the helm of Steady Lads, the premium platform of Journal du Coin, once again emphasizes caution. The crypto market shows several signs of weakness ahead of the decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Bitcoin still maintains an important long-term support, but altcoins struggle to find a favorable direction. Key points of this article:
- The crypto market shows signs of weakness ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's decision, with Bitcoin maintaining long-term support while altcoins struggle to find a favorable direction.
- Cara, the professional trader, once again prioritizes caution by holding cash and preparing several scenarios while waiting for a visible improvement in the market.
Global Market and Bitcoin: Fragile Supports Before the Fed
The first warning signal: TOTAL.ES, which measures the market capitalization of crypto excluding stablecoins, ends the week below the support monitored by Cara. This price zone had previously halted the decline. Its breach indicates a degradation of the market and prompts the trader to wait rather than buy every dip.
Bitcoin presents a more contrasting situation. On the weekly chart, it remains in a broad zone that separates bullish and bearish scenarios. For Cara, the long-term trend still holds, but a weekly close below $76,000 to $77,000 would call this reading into question. The support seems to be failing on TOTAL ES -- Source: Steady Lads
In the short term, the signs are less favorable. The rebound from the previous week did not allow for a sustainable return to the price zone occupied at the end of September. On the chart grouping sessions by three days, Bitcoin also threatens to lose a support.
These movements make entry points difficult to identify. While awaiting the Fed's decision, Cara is therefore keeping a significant amount of cash. His approach is to prepare multiple scenarios and then wait for a visible improvement before taking on more risk. Ethereum and Altcoins: Some Resistance in a Fragile Market
Altcoins are regaining important support against the dollar, but the overall context diminishes the significance of this signal. Against Bitcoin, they also remain below the levels monitored by Cara. Therefore, the charts do not confirm a widespread recovery of altcoins.
Ethereum illustrates this difficulty with the loss of $2,400. However, a momentum indicator suggests that selling pressure may be easing. This shift could precede a rebound, but it is not enough to confirm a reversal. Against Bitcoin, Cara is monitoring the zone of 0.0284 BTC per ETH. On the Ethereum side, the support at $2,400 has also been lost -- Source: Steady Lads
Solana is returning to the $97 to $100 range, a zone whose maintenance would allow it to preserve its recent best resistance. LayerZero is also correcting: the $2.30 level poses an upward obstacle, while a return to $1.30 is among the observed scenarios. NEAR also shows a negative trend after several unsuccessful breakout attempts. Let's hope Solana (SOL) holds its ground! -- Source: Steady Lads
A few assets stand out nonetheless. PEPE is holding up better than the overall market but does not offer a clear entry point. Zama has maintained an upward trend since March and is testing a graphical zone that Cara considers interesting to monitor.
These exceptions do not change the overall diagnosis: the signals of weakness remain numerous. For Cara, holding cash and waiting for confirmations is a position in itself, in a market where every rebound does not necessarily mark the end of the decline. Patience, reflection, and controlled risk: the key words of the strategy at work on Steady Lads.

Allocation as of 26.10.26:
💵 Stablecoins: 38% --- 💰 Cryptos: 62%
In a market with no clear direction, alternating false starts and setbacks, Cara's new entry did not hold. The stop, set tight from the opening, did its job and the position is closed. The portfolio returns to three crypto positions, with just over a third in stablecoins, awaiting clearer configurations.
