A poll shows that about 69% of Democrats and 61% of Republicans oppose using prediction markets to bet on U.S. elections, military actions, and policy announcements, with only 8% and 9% supporting such bets. Respondents believe that these markets are unethical, socially corrosive, and could potentially harm national security. The prediction market industry, led by Polymarket and Kalshi, continues to expand, raising concerns among policymakers that these platforms may open new avenues for insider trading and manipulation.
