Lightning Labs Launches Wavelength, AI Agents Can Autonomously Pay with Bitcoin
Lightning Labs has opened Wavelength to all users, allowing AI agents to autonomously send and receive payments on the Bitcoin mainnet via the Lightning Network and L402, without the need for human approval. AI agents can use payment APIs to call fees, purchase data, and transact with other agents, with transaction fees as low as less than 1 cent. Developers can integrate payment functionality into their applications without running Lightning Network nodes, managing channels, or raising liquidity. The self-hosted toolkit supports independent on-chain exits, with an initial wallet limit of 300,000 satoshis, and a 0.25% service fee for Lightning Network payments. Wavelength is currently in the Alpha stage and plans to support stablecoins.
