Terrence Duffy, CEO of the CME Group, stated that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)'s claim of regulatory authority over prediction markets is "somewhat far-fetched." As legal battles between U.S. states and the federal government approach, the related dispute may ultimately be submitted to the Supreme Court. Duffy mentioned during Washington Fintech Week that this matter will be brought before the Supreme Court, and he believes that the states and the federal government will prevail.
