World Summit AI 2026: What AI Agents Are Changing for Crypto
World Summit AI will take place on October 7 and 8, 2026, near Amsterdam, with more than 10,000 participants and 300 speakers expected, according to the organizer. The published program does not include any sessions dedicated to crypto, but it gives significant attention to AI agents, software capable of acting independently, which payment networks are already preparing to settle in stablecoins. Cointribune explains what a crypto reader can learn there, who will speak, and what the ticket costs.

Why Should a Crypto Reader Be Interested in an AI Summit?
Because AI agents will need to pay. An AI agent is a program that does not just respond: it acts, reserves, buys, or negotiates for you. Visa estimates that stablecoins will support the micro-commerce of these agents, as we reported in our article on Visa, stablecoins, and AI agents. Entrusting a task to an agent is somewhat like handing your credit card to an assistant: the question is no longer just what it can do, but how it pays and within what limits.
Let’s be clear about the angle: as of September 30, the official program does not include any sessions on blockchain, crypto, or stablecoins. The link to crypto is a reading from Cointribune, not a theme from the organizer. Viewed as an operation, World Summit AI sells access to companies building AI and to decision-makers overseeing it; for an investor or a crypto project, the interest is to see where the agents stand before they become clients of blockchains.
World Summit AI started nearly ten years ago, before AI made headlines worldwide, with a simple conviction: the future of this technology must be built through open dialogue, across the entire ecosystem. Maisie Holder, World Summit AI, statement from the organizer on August 25, 2026, quoted by TechRevolt (translation Cointribune)
Who Is Speaking, and What Sessions to Follow?
Eight stages share the program, from the main stage to a forum on sovereign AI, new this year. For a crypto reader, the session closest to the topic is announced on the main stage: << The Future of AI Agents: The Agent Development Lifecycle >>, dedicated to the lifecycle of agents, according to the organizer's blog.
| Speaker | Position | Why Follow Them |
|---|---|---|
| Harrison Chase | Co-founder and CEO of LangChain | His tool is used to build AI agents |
| Zico Kolter | Board member of OpenAI, professor at Carnegie Mellon | Security of models and agents |
| Audrey Tang | Cyber ambassador of Taiwan | Civic technologies and digital identity |
| Mark Papermaster | Chief Technology Officer at AMD | Chips and computing power |
| Helen King | Vice President of Responsibility, Google DeepMind | Oversight of advanced models |
| Anu Talus | Chair of the European Data Protection Board | Personal data and AI in Europe |

A theme of the main stage deserves clarification: << Decentralised & Edge AI >>. It refers to bringing computation closer to data, on phones or sensors, not the use of a blockchain. Decentralised AI crypto projects have a similar discourse; to sort it out, read our dossier on crypto and AI agents.

What Does the AI Act Change Since August 2?
The European regulation on artificial intelligence, in effect since August 1, 2024, became applicable on August 2, 2026, with exceptions, according to the European Commission's page. It operates like technical control: the more risks an AI system presents, the heavier the obligations. Transparency rules also come into effect in August 2026: a user must know when they are interacting with an AI.
For a crypto platform offering an assistant or AI agent to its clients in Europe, this text adds to the MiCA regulation. This is one of the topics that European officials present in Amsterdam, from the European Data Protection Board to the Portuguese government, are likely to discuss.
How Much Does the Ticket Cost?
Prices are displayed excluding VAT on the official ticketing site. Group discounts apply from five people (10% for 5 to 9, 15% for 10 to 24, 20% for 25 to 47), and there are rates for startups, students, and the academic world.
| Ticket | Price (excl. VAT) | With code −20% (Cointribune calculation) |
|---|---|---|

| Expo & Content | €1,699 | €1,359.20 |

Regarding access, the venue is located in Zaandam, 2.8 km from the train station, with no parking on site; free shuttles depart from a park-and-ride, according to the organizer's practical guide. The summit is part of World AI Week, from October 5 to 9, with events reserved separately on its site.
Join us on Wednesday, October 7, at 8 AM in Zaandam for two days ending on October 8 at 6 PM. One thing to watch for: whether the sessions on AI agents address the issue of payments, and thus stablecoins, or if this topic remains confined to crypto lounges. To extend the reflection, reread why Brian Armstrong sees AI agents as the future of finance.
