The UK High Court has ruled that the property claims to over 61,000 bitcoins involved in the illegal fundraising case of Tianjin Lantian Ge Rui in China should be determined according to Chinese law. The ruling, announced on October 12, means that approximately 16,000 Chinese victims participating in the UK recovery process may not be able to share in the appreciation of bitcoin prices through UK law, and can only recover their principal and interest at most.
