BlockBeats News, February 1st - Former President Donald Trump delivered a keynote speech at the annual gala of the Alfalfa Club on Saturday night, where he reportedly made sarcastic remarks in a closed-door session. According to attendees, Trump told the audience of business leaders and Washington elites, he chose Powell because he "looks like he walked out of a movie." If Powell is elected and does not lower interest rates, he will sue Powell.

However, later in the evening, when asked about these remarks on Air Force One, Trump stated, it was just a joke. No commitments regarding the nomination were obtained from Powell. "I could do it if I wanted to, but I didn't."

It is worth noting that Trump had previously expressed concerns publicly that the Fed chair nominee could "betray themselves" after being elected.
