BlockBeats News, January 28th, according to Bloomberg, stablecoin issuer Tether has become the largest non-sovereign holder of gold outside of central banks, with a total weight exceeding 140 tons. Tether securely stores it in a nuclear bunker.
In yesterday's announcement, Tether revealed plans to increase its gold reserves by about 27 tons in Q4 2025, propelling it into the top 30 global gold holders, surpassing countries such as Greece, Qatar, and Australia.
