SAP Introduces Stablecoin to Corporate Payment Services
German software company SAP is introducing stablecoins into its corporate payment services. On the 12th, SAP announced the launch of 'SAP Pay', which integrates payment functionality into its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and supports cross-border payments based on stablecoins. SAP Pay is designed to allow companies to handle payments and settlements directly within the SAP Cloud ERP, enabling them to process payments and settlements in one system without needing separate banking systems or payment services after invoice approval. SAP Pay supports stablecoin-based payments for cross-border transactions alongside electronic funds transfers (EFT), bank transfers, and checks, but the specific types of stablecoins and payment routes have not been disclosed. This service will be provided through its newly established subsidiary, Teraina, and SAP plans to support its own payment services without relying on external payment providers.
