PancakeSwap Official Announces New Proposal to Adjust CAKE Max Supply from 4.5 Billion to 4 Billion

BlockBeats News, January 13th, according to official sources, the Pancake official team has released a new proposal, suggesting to adjust the CAKE maximum supply from 450 million to 400 million.

The team stated that they believe the adjusted token amount is sufficient to support all future development needs of the protocol. Despite the existence of a buffer of approximately 50 million tokens between the current circulating supply (approximately 350 million) and the new maximum supply (400 million) after the adjustment, it is expected that this reserve will not need to be tapped. In case of special circumstances, the team may still activate this buffering mechanism. It is important to note that Pancake's ecosystem development fund continues to grow steadily, currently accumulating about 3.5 million CAKE tokens. Before considering any additional emissions, these reserves will be prioritized for protocol development needs. Therefore, the protocol is unlikely to return to an inflationary state.
