OpenSea Marks 3,000 Stolen NFTs, Restricts Trading
OpenSea's Chief Technology Officer Chris Maddern posted on the X platform in response to the security incidents involving Magic Eden and Limit Break, emphasizing that OpenSea's systems and smart contracts were not affected. The known affected ERC-721 NFTs have been marked on OpenSea and cannot be sold. For newly discovered exploited NFTs, OpenSea will automatically mark them to restrict attackers from obtaining bids. Maddern stated that authorized users will still see a notification banner and be provided with a link to revoke authorization. Currently, over 3,000 NFTs have been marked as stolen and trading is prohibited. OpenSea will continue to assist in mitigating the impact of this industry security incident on users.
