Hyperliquid Founder Claims HIP-3 Once Accounted for 51% of Platform's Trading Volume
Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan stated during a discussion at TOKEN2049 that in July this year, the HIP-3 market contributed approximately 51% of Hyperliquid's trading volume, reflecting a significant product-market fit in the market. He pointed out that users are willing to migrate from traditional financial products to new on-chain markets, indicating a substantial gap in product supply and demonstrating users' trust in the relevant deployers. The discussion mentioned that perpetual contracts for real-world assets such as crude oil and Pre-IPO have become important application directions for HIP-3. Jeff Yan believes that the increasing number of markets allowing users to participate in previously inaccessible trading opportunities is a noteworthy change over the past year. He emphasized that some assets in traditional finance are often only accessible to a few early participants, and the financial system should be opened up to a broader range of users as much as possible. Jeff Yan also expressed that Hyperliquid aims to become an open protocol and infrastructure for different financial products and applications, rather than competing directly with front-end platforms. Builder Codes allow developers to create mobile applications and institutional trading terminals without having to build the underlying systems themselves, and directly access Hyperliquid's market and liquidity.
