Chainlink Launches 24/5 Stock Data Feeds, Bringing About $80 Trillion of the US Stock Market On-Chain
BlockBeats News, January 20th, Chainlink announced the launch of 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams, providing DeFi with coverage of pre-market, after-hours, and overnight U.S. stock market data for the first time, enabling the approximately $80 trillion U.S. stock market to operate continuously on-chain.
This data feed supports high-frequency, cryptographically signed market data 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, including not only mid-prices but also bid and ask prices and volumes, last trade price, market status indicators, and data freshness metrics, providing full market context for on-chain trading, clearing, and risk management.
Chainlink stated that the solution has been deployed on over 40 blockchains, supporting various Real World Asset (RWA) applications such as U.S. stock perpetual swaps, prediction markets, synthetic stocks, lending, and structured products. Many trading platforms including Lighter, BitMEX, ApeX, Orderly Network, among others, have adopted this data feed, driving the development of an on-chain continuous U.S. stock market.
Chainlink pointed out that the 24/5 data feed addresses the structural mismatch between traditional U.S. stock trading hours and blockchain's 24/7 operation, representing a key step in facilitating the large-scale on-chainization of institutional-grade U.S. stock assets.
